Balconies
Metal balcony repair in Montréal
A balcony that moves, anchors that rust, a guardrail that wobbles. We diagnose on site, reinforce what holds, and rebuild what no longer does.

The signs that do not lie
- The balcony vibrates or tilts when you walk on it.
- Rust streaks running down the brick or stone under the anchors.
- Joists or stringers thinned, flaking, perforated.
- A guardrail that moves by hand, loose posts.
- A floor sagging in the middle or near the wall.
Any one of these signs justifies a visit. A repair done early costs a fraction of a rebuilt balcony. And a balcony that gives way ends up in front of the insurer.
What we repair and what we rebuild
| Problem | Intervention |
|---|---|
| Rusted or loose anchors | New anchors in the masonry or concrete, fixing plates replaced. |
| Weakened joists or brackets | Reinforcement welded on site, or section replaced if too much metal is lost. |
| Guardrail not to code or wobbly | Posts rewelded, balusters added, height corrected. See the guardrails page. |
| Sagging floor | Supports added, structure relevelled, decking replaced as needed. |
| Balcony beyond saving | New steel balcony drawn, built in the shop and installed. Plan approved with you. |
A balcony is a structure. When a reinforcement touches load-bearing capacity, we have it checked by an engineer. That is part of the process, not an option.
