Custom guardrails in Montréal
Balcony, deck, staircase, mezzanine: we build the guardrail that is missing, fix the one that wobbles, and bring it to the heights the code requires.
What we build and repair
- Balcony and deck guardrails, in painted or galvanized steel.
- Interior and exterior stair guardrails, with handrail.
- Mezzanine, dock and platform guardrails, residential and commercial.
- Balusters, rails and posts replaced one at a time when the rest holds.
- Anchors redone in concrete, brick or stone when they have let go.
Steel, wrought iron or stainless. Vertical balusters, panels, cables or glass to suit the facade. We draw before we build, and you approve the plan.
What the code requires

| Baluster spacing | No opening may let a 100 mm (4 in) sphere through. |
| Climbable elements | No rail or pattern that acts as a step between 140 and 900 mm from the floor. |
| Stair handrail | Continuous, graspable, between 865 and 1,070 mm above the stair nosing. |
These are the general requirements of the Quebec Construction Code. Your borough may add to them; the municipal inspector has the final word. We check before we cut.

We measure on site, check anchors and heights. The price is given before we start.

Fabrication
Repair on site when possible. Shop fabrication when it needs to be new, with a plan you approve.

Installation and finish
Anchoring, levelling, anti-rust paint or galvanizing. You test it before we leave.
